Hashi Bridges: rules and examples

Read the aim of Hashi Bridges, then make your first move. Connect all islands into one network with exactly the indicated number of attached bridges. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Choose a comfortable screen position before beginning. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

Choose from ten nine-island layouts. Join adjacent islands along the straight connections shown.

Practice beyond the first move

Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart. Notice the feedback after each input.

Understand the aim

Connect all islands into one network with exactly the indicated number of attached bridges. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Review the board or playing area as it changes.

Follow these playing steps

  1. Select two neighbouring islands or click an edge.
  2. Cycle zero, one or two bridges.
  3. Match every numbered island.
  4. Check puzzle also verifies the islands form one network.

Choosing and moving on screen

Click or tap squares or graph edges. Number boards include a digit pad. Undo reverses the previous change; Check puzzle validates the solution. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Use one clear input at a time.

An example to follow

An island marked 3 may use a double bridge and a single bridge. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Look for the relevant detail.

Where a round can go wrong

Correct totals in separate disconnected groups do not win. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
