Know the goal in Air Hockey
Take a moment with Air Hockey before moving to another game. Score seven goals before the computer. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Identify the playing area and the controls you need. Look at what changes after your first action.
Move your paddle against a computer opponent and score through the opposite goal.
Practice beyond the first move
Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board. Make the next step deliberately.
Understand the aim
Score seven goals before the computer. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Try to explain the aim in your own words.
Making your moves
- Start.
- Move your mallet within the lower half.
- Strike toward the upper goal.
- Goals reset the puck.
Getting comfortable with the controls
Mouse/touch movement or Left/Right controls. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Use one clear input at a time.
One way to understand the rules
An angled hit can bank off a side wall. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Verify the rule before continuing.
An important reminder
You cannot move into the computer’s half. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
